Knowing The Different Between Weight Loss and Staying Healthy

I have said many times that living a healthy lifestyle is not a short term thing, which it’s not. But losing weight is a short term thing. Here’s what I mean.

Depending on how much weight you have to lose and if you have the right programs, you don’t need only but three to six months to lose weight. You want to get to what makes you happy whether that is a healthy size 0 or a healthy size 8.

The point is you lose weight and you get to a body that you love. From that point out, you have just entered maintenance mode. The workout routines you use during this phase are not really that much different, it more of how you eat that changes.

During maintenance mode, you are maintaining your weight. You can’t just go right back to all your bad habits or you’ll end up getting fat again. You need to still eat really healthy, but typically you can eat more food.

This is also the time when you want to work on getting stronger. The stronger you get, you normally will get leaner and fitter. It’s pretty amazing and this is a great place to be.

After a little while or being in maintenance mode, you will understand your body really well. So if you cheat during a vacation, you will quickly be able to pick thing back up and get right back in shape.

Why Should Women Build Lean Muscle Mass?

It might seem really terrifying to you as a women, but you need to build some lean muscle. Muscle is so important because it’s the engine of your body and with more muscle, the higher your metabolism is and the more calories your body burns naturally.

Keep in mind that there is no relationship between muscular strength and muscular size. Size is independent of your strength so you never have to worry about getting big because you can use work on strength. Size is almost completely dependent on how many calories you eat. The more calories, the bigger you are going to get.

The best fat burning exercises are those that not only get your cardio up and working but your lean muscle too. This is why I love weight training routines that use your body weight as resistance along with dumbbells.

As you continue to do workouts like these, you will naturally lose fat and weight. However, don’t expect your weight to go down in huge quantities. It really depends on how much fat you have to lose. But since lean muscle weighs more than fat, the scale can deceive you.
